Long truck screws are available now. These self-tapping screws, shown on the right above, are 3/8" long (about 10mm). They will reach 50% farther than the typical 1,5mm or #0 (.060" diameter) truck screws shown on the left and can provide added strength to your assembly. $2.00 for a Package of 10.
The car is a scale 18' long by 6' wide. Weight, as built with supplied trucks & couplers: 0.80 ounces.

NOTE: Some, if not all of the Monson boxcars had metal sheet attached to the roofwalk board ends and their adjacent supports near the end of the car's useful life. It was applied in an effort to reduce the damage inflicted by harsh winter weather. This information was not included with the kit instructions. Thanks to Bob Hayden for bringing it to my attention.
