Jack's Cabin Water Tank in HO scale
This eye catching craftsman kit is composed primarily of laser cut wood with cast styrene details. It also includes peel and stick hexagonal shingles modeling the prototype's. As shown above, it takes up a modest 4" by 4-3/4" space and stands about 4-3/4" tall. This small footprint will allow you to place it almost anywhere you can imagine.
Though the prototype served the D&RGW 3' gauge railroad, HOn30 locos would be right at home watering up too. Placing the model slightly above track level will allow you to accommodate many standard gauge HO locomotives.
Typical of Stevens Creek Models kits, it contains comprehensive step by step instructions and many construction photos, as well as a discussion on painting shingles. Part #: JCT-HO. My test build of the On30 Yosemite Short Line hopper is available as shown, together with all the laser cut wood and paper parts (and all but one fret of the laser cut plastic) needed to build two more cars, plus a bunch more laser cut parts to bash together some flatcars, or whatever else you can think up. Instructions and a parts list for the additional items you'll need to build hoppers is included. The out of production kits originally sold for $40.00 without trucks or couplers. With trucks & couplers, it sold for $62.00. It was never available built up. $140.00 will get the built prototype model + all the other mentioned goodies delivered to your door in the lower 48. You won't be disappointed.
