This image above shows one of the truss rods in place as well as some of the rafter detail. The first row of roofing has been applied at this point.
This shows the front of the almost completed test build. Piers have yet to be fabricated and cast. NBWs have been added to the rear as well.
Here you can see the amount of detail that is in the kit. Modeled from the prototype, the slats across the studs are there to protect the corrugated siding from errant pieces of wood.
The model consists of laser cut wood for the greater portion of the framing. Stripwood for the light colored studs & slats you see above + the little bit of trim. About 40" of corrugated material is included. NBWs and (future) piers will be in the kit. Expect comprehensive fully illustrated instructions.
Footprint: About 5-3/4" long by 3" deep. Price to be determined.

Missing from the previous set of pictures was one showing the slope of the roof. This photo should help tell the story a little better.
A friend who models in S told me he wants one to use as an open sided hay barn on his layout. I've seen similar structures used for cattle feeding.

I made some pier masters from styrene stock today: 1/8" tall & tapering toward the top. Putting them under the rear wall & uprights looked awful so there won't be any in the kit. I thought it did need something though, so there will be some .040 or .060 x 1/8" wide styrene strip that you can cut into squares and use appropriately. Once you add dirt & weeds in and around the building it will look right.

I completed the second test build today. Along the way I came up with an interesting and easy non-toxic, but somewhat time consuming method for finishing the corrugated metal used in the kit. Try an image search for "corrugated siding" in Google to see some of the prototype inspiration for the finish. I'll be gathering materials & writing instructions during the next week or two, then the kits should be ready to go.

I had a little time on my hands & decided to take a photo of the woodshed with a couple of HO figures so you can get a better idea of the size of the building. Not satisfied with something "plain" I had to Photoshop® it to add some background. I know, I know... it looks kinda cheezy. But it was fun! That is an almond orchard you see back there. The orchard photo was taken in a valley east of Paso Robles, California, not too many miles from the spot where James Dean met his end.
The instructions and box art are complete and printed as of this morning. Most of the parts are ready too. I'll be boxing up kits as soon as the corrugation arrives, which I hope is either tomorrow or Friday. Kit price will be $48.00 + shipping.

Minor delay - The corrugated metal didn't ship yet. The supplier says it will go out today or tomorrow and I should have it Tuesday. Since everything else is ready to go I'll begin shipping within a couple of hours of arrival. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
If you haven't visited my home page (link below) please do. My next kit effort will be one you choose. See the information on my "Coming up" list.
