Randolph Roundhouse Test Build

This view of the roundhouse interior was taken as it sat inverted on my table. Note the detail on the inside of the bay doors and man door, as well as the scribed board interior walls behind the studs. The windows also have sash detail on the interior and are each composed of 8 individual laser cut pieces. The roof is easily removable for access to the interior when mounted on your layout or diorama. The fit of the parts is precise, with the vast majority of parts being laser cut. After prepainting parts, assembly can be done in a weekend producing a model you will be exceptionally pleased with. Special historically correct details will be included in the kit when released. Only 30 kits will be made. Once they are gone, they are gone. Shipping should begin around June 21st.
NOTE: This kit models a prototype that served a 2' gauge railroad, the Kennebec Central. The bay doors will not accommodate most standard gauge or 3' gauge locos. The bay openings are 1.8" tall from the bottom of the foundation to the top of the door. The width of the openings is 1.2 inches. As the doors open, they do not completely clear the opening unless they are swung back all the way. Depending on how the doors are built up, the available space could be as narrow as 1.05" or as wide as 1.15" with the doors open parallel to the track. Just like the single stall prototype doors they model, the bay doors are not notched. The bottom of the doors are about 2/10" above the bottom of the foundation. The overall footprint of the roundhouse is about 6" long by 4" wide at the front & 5-3/8" wide at the rear. These dimensions do not include the supplied external details. The absolute longest loco that can fit (but I wouldn't attempt it!!) is 5-1/2" from trip pin tip, to trip pin tip, in the right bay. The left bay is about 1/4" shorter.
