Near Hot Springs, SD is the Mammoth Site. This location has probably the largest concentration of mammoth bones anywhere. These are bones, not fossils they are excavating. I saw some bits of hair & other matter being uncovered as well but they didn't talk about that. Our tour group went quickly so the next group could get started (gotta keep those tourist dollars coming!) but we were free to wander around the area immediately after.
